Functional Capacity Evaluation in Houston
Each job has unique physical requirements that your body can’t fulfill for various reasons like injuries or illness. A Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) tells your doctor what treatments to include in your rehabilitation to help meet job specific physical requirements.
An FCE answers the following questions:
- Can you go back to work
- Can you work without injuring yourself again
- Will you qualify for insurance?
The assessments are based on the following criteria:
- Physical Strength
- Lifting abilities
- Flexibility
- Stamina
- Range of motion
People get FCEs for a variety of reasons, the most common being:
- Musculoskeletal injuries
- Post-operative rehabilitation
- Neurological dysfunctions that affect movement or speaking
At Spe Medical and Physical Therapy Clinic in Houston, TX, we offer functional capacity testing to assess your wellness to go back to work. We work with experienced occupational and physical therapists to create the quickest path to complete recovery through our FCEs.
We perform functional capacity evaluation (FCE) to help determine your functional ability at work so that you can avoid over exertion that might lead to injury or re-injury.
A functional capacity evaluation (FCE) allows a evaluator to determine physical abilities. An FCE may gauge the success of a course of physical therapy for someone injured in an accident. FCEs are also helpful in measuring an injured worker’s ability to return to the job and perform that job’s required physical functions, such as lifting, carrying, bending and standing for long periods of time.
